The Full Standard

The Full Standard

The following types of hot water systems meet the Full Standard:

1. A Natural Gas or LPG hot water system (instantaneous, continuous flow or storage) that has:

Minimum RECs in ORER Zone 3*
Single Tank System
Multi Tank System
Small Tank volume equal to or less than 220 L Preheat tank volume equal to or less than 110 L 18 RECs
Medium Tank volume greater than 220 L and less than 400 L Preheat tank volume greater than 110 L and less than 200 L 28 RECs
Large Tank volume equal to or greater than 400 L and equal to or less than 700 L Preheat tank volume equal to or greater than 200 L and equal to or less than 350 L 40 RECs
* REC levels are based on Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator (ORER) Zone 3, regardless of the actual zone in which the water heater is installed.

Other Water Heaters
The SA Water Direction specifies a Performance Verification Method that can be used to demonstrate compliance with the Full Standard for water heaters not listed above.
